Job Description

To provide quality experience based instruction to Computer Aided Design Drafting students in both classroom and laboratory environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver quality, experience-based instruction and hands-on laboratory activities designed to prepare students for successful entry into the workforce (70%)
2. Collaboratively work with program faculty, the Department Chair, and Technical Advisory Committee members to develop and maintain program curriculum (8%)
3. Recruit and advise Computer Aided Design Drafting students (5%)
4. Participate in professional development activities to maintain state certification and engage in lifelong learning (5%)
5. Collaboratively work with program and departmental faculty to continuously assess and improve the program to maintain accreditation.  This will include participating in meetings to discuss and assess the program, and developing reports to maintain program accreditation. (5%)
6. Actively participate in departmental, college, university, and community professional service opportunities (5%)
7. Develop and maintain quality relationships with business/industry and other employers (2%)

Minimum Qualifications

• Have an associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting, or closely related area of study, and 12,000 hours of full-time, successful, recent, gainful employment in a Computer Aided Drafting related occupation OR a bachelor’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting, or closely related area of study, and 6,000 hours of full-time, successful, recent, gainful employment in an Computer Aided Drafting related occupation

• Postsecondary Occupational Specialist Certification from the Idaho Division of Career & Technical Education or meet the requirements to obtain such certification

• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral forms

• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

• Ability to operate a computer efficiently and use word processing software, email, and internet browsers

• Proficiency in use of AutoCAD software

• Proficiency in applied algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

Preferred Qualifications

• 16,000 hours of full-time, successful, recent, gainful employment in a Computer Aide Drafting related occupation

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

• Experience using Revit software

• Experience using Autodesk Inventor software

• Experience teaching/training others in a professional or educational setting

• Demonstrated efforts to stay current with an evolving industry through training or self-study in the operation of new equipment, software, and methods

• Hold current professional certifications related to Design Drafting
