The Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Michigan seeks a 1.0 FTE Primary Care physician to provide clinical services. The Division of General Pediatrics is comprised of 60+ clinical faculty delivering patient care in nine ambulatory care sites in Southeastern Michigan. We manage over 100,000 patient visits annually and offer same day appointments with evening and weekend hours at all our locations.

In addition to serving our primary care patients, we co-manage the newborn nursery at C. S. Mott Children's Hospital with our hospitalist colleagues. Our clinics are all NCQA certified medical homes. We are actively engaged in patient safety and quality improvement projects. All sites offer current, evidence-based advice and references for families in our practices. Our clinic system serves as the primary continuity clinic sites for the general pediatrics training program at C. S. Mott Children's Hospital and also as the outpatient pediatric clerkship sites for University of Michigan medical students.

Primary care faculty are actively engaged in 32 hours of direct patient care per week and are provided with 8 hours of administrative time.

The successful candidate will provide clinical care as a float physician throughout Washtenaw and Wayne Counties. All faculty are required to participate in the on-call and Saturday rotation schedule.  As an academic medical center, faculty will actively participate in the education of medical students and residents.  Opportunities to participate in scholarly activity exist.

Requirements include an MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree; eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Michigan, and certification by the American Board of Pediatrics.  Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.

This position is posted as Clinical Instructor-Clinical Professor.  Rank of selected candidate is dependent upon qualifications.

Job openings are posted for a minimum of seven calendar days. This job may be removed from posting boards and filled any time after the minimum posting period has ended.
