The Clinical Informatics Analyst, under general supervision, serves as functional manager for clinical databases and systems that comprise the patient Electronic Health Record (EHR) System. Provides reporting capabilities for clinical systems in support of quality and management initiatives.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five years of related experience in an educational and/or healthcare setting including experience in two or more of the following: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, mental health setting, ancillary clinical systems, and/or document management systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Knowledge of managerial and end-user report maintenance.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to use database-reporting software tools for the design, creation, and maintenance of reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Information Management Systems

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Database Administrator: Serves as a functional manager for clinical databases and systems that comprise the client Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System. Provides reporting capabilities for clinical systems in support of quality and management initiatives. Evaluates and modifies EMR templates and work flows to ensure and improve efficiency, quality of care, employee satisfaction, billing and growth. Coordinates efforts of service providers, vendors, and IT to improve clinical systems. Utilizes database reporting tools for design, creation, and maintenance of managerial and end-user reports. Manages integration and coordination efforts between center operations and the EMR System vendors, working closely with School of Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry staff and Information Technology Staff. Coordinates EMR software upgrades.

  • Liaisons & Committee Work: Serves as a member of key organizational teams to communicate ongoing status of EMR-related implementations. Communicates with Clinical Strategy leadership regarding impact of system changes on clinical users. Provides support to clinical services through participation in committees, projects, and ongoing departmental requests.
