Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The mission of the School of Nursing is to enhance and improve the health and well-being of the people of North Carolina and the nation, and, as relevant and appropriate, the people of other nations, through its programs of education, research, and scholarship, and through clinical practice and community service. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing has been the leader in nursing education in North Carolina throughout its history. Established in 1950, it was the first school of nursing in North Carolina to offer a four-year baccalaureate nursing degree program followed by the first master’s degree program, the first continuing education program for nurses, first doctoral program, and first accelerated BSN option to students with college degrees. Today, the School is renowned for its academic programs, its research and its commitment to clinical and community service within state, national and global communities.
Position Summary
THIS POSTING IS FOR 4 VACANCIES. ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR BOTH VACANCIES.
This is a 12 month position reporting to the Division Chair. Duties include both clinical and didactic instruction. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: direct and indirect supervision clinical instruction, lab instruction, didactic teaching, course coordination for undergraduate courses, undergraduate honors project advising, serving on MSN, DNP and PhD committees.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Doctorate from accredited institution. Ability to demonstrate comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Eligibility for RN License in North Carolina. At least 2 years of clinical experience. Ability to demonstrate leadership in academic practices.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
