Job Summary:
The Department of Graduate Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner clinical assistant professor (non-Tenure track). Rank is negotiable based on experience.
This position is part of a dynamic team in the growing psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. Candidates should show evidence of teaching experience and are expected to contribute to the academic and scholarly goals of the university and college. They will contribute to the curriculum development, teaching, and mentorship of students in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) programs. Candidates with specific expertise in geriatric and/or pediatric/adolescent psychiatric-mental health experience are preferred, but all experience is welcome.
Essential Duties:
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD) or related field (e.g., EdD)
- Unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas
- Unencumbered PMHNP license in the State of Texas
- An active, direct patient care practice that can be maintained on a limited part-time basis
- A minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience as a PMHNP
- A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of teaching experience
- Course development and maintenance experience
- A demonstrated program of scholarship
