Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The Department of Educational and Developmental Sciences at the University of South Carolina seeks applications for a 9-month professional track position in Adapted Physical Education/Physical Education Pedagogy at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor to begin August, 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to 1) teach in the MS-APE and BSPE programs as well as other PE programs (as needed) with a primary contribution to courses in adapted physical education with secondary contributions to physical education (4/4 load), 2) support supervision needs in the department; and 3) participate in relevant service activities as assigned and selected. Required Education and Experience | We welcome candidates with an earned doctorate in physical education/adapted physical education or related field by the start date of employment and the ability to work cooperatively with diverse colleagues and students. |
Preferred Qualifications | We prefer candidates with evidence of (1) previous adapted physical education teaching experience, (2) Certified Adapted Physical Educator (CAPE) credential, (3) successful online course delivery, and (4) a record of building diverse and inclusive learning and working environments that promote access, opportunity, and equity. |
