Organizational Unit Overview
Internal Medicine is a department within the Division of Heath Sciences and Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Department of Internal Medicine is comprised of nine divisions with over 85 full time faculty and 150 support staff members. Each of the divisions has its own specialty clinic.
Internal Medicine is home to seven fellowships and two residency programs. In recent years collaboration and funding have come from many national recognized organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Service Administration, American Heart Association, NC Department of Human Health and Human Service. More locally, we have partnered with Vidant Medical Center Foundation, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and the Pitt County Health Department. Additionally, Internal Medicine participates in many pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials.
We collaborate with Department of Pediatrics, the Department of Surgery, and the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences within the Brody School of Medicine. The Department of Internal Medicine has a close affiliation with ECU Health Medical Center and serves a diverse population in eastern North Carolina.
Job Duties
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Dermatology, is expanding their division and accepting BE/BC Physicians for a General Dermatology faculty fixed-term or tenure-track position at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor OR Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor.

– Teaching of dermatology, primary care residents and medical students

– 90% outpatient care – general dermatology clinic and procedures (cosmetic procedures as experience allows).
Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program (ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457).  This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System (TSERS). Minimum Education/Experience
MD or DO Degree;
Board Eligible/Board Certified in Dermatology
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
NC Medical License
