Description:
Baylor University seeks to fill the position in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences: Director of Outcomes and Assessment for the new hybrid Physician Assistant program. This position will supply administrative assistance for all didactic aspects of the program's development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment while providing oversight and guidance to meet current practice standards as they relate to the role of the PA in providing patient care.
As a full-time faculty member, the role includes the requirement to provide innovative teaching and advising methods consistent with the mission and vision of this new program, resulting in student achievement of programmatic goals and learning outcomes.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, delivering, coordinating, and assessing all content during the didactic phase of the program and the creation of program competencies in accordance with best practices and accreditation standards.
  • Assist the Program Director in establishing, refining, and implementing program policies and procedures consistent with university and accreditation standards, including those necessary for ongoing programmatic assessments through goal determination, curriculum development, and outcome assessment.
  • Reviews student academic and professional progress, especially during the didactic phase, and assists the Program Director and other principal faculty and staff in determining corrective measures and/or remediation when necessary.
  • Engage in teaching, scholarship and service that promotes Baylor University's distinctive mission and positions the Program and the Robbins College as a thought leader in PA education.
  • Participate in student recruiting, admissions, and retention with all principal and adjunct faculty and staff.
  • Comply with all academic and regulatory policies, including the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) and confidentiality of personal information provided by the students.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00.
This range considers many factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum requirements):
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA Program
  • Masters degree required, Doctoral degree preferred
  • Current NCCPA certification and any state medical license
  • Minimum five years of clinical practice experience
  • Minimum three years of teaching experience within an institution of higher education

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, both within the program and across the college and university, is highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS (Additional Skills):
The ideal Director of Outcomes and Assessment will have strong abilities with student engagement, educational objective setting, outcome assessment, and curriculum development, management, and mapping. experience in programmatic accreditation, especially with the Accreditation Review Commission on education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), is preferred. Additionally, effective organizational habits, clear communication skills, evidenced-based teaching methodologies, technology literacy, and the flexibility to perform other duties as needed and desirable.
