Classroom Technology Integration Specialist

The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the position of Classroom Technology Integration Specialist. The Classroom Technology Integration Specialist provides effective support/maintenance and implementation of new technology initiatives throughout all existing and new smart classrooms and video conferencing locations; provides installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware equipment; provides end-users with the necessary guidance to select technology equipment and software and provide subsequent training and support; works effectively with users, vendors, and other IT groups to ensure user issues are resolved in a timely, effective manner; collaborates effectively with other ITS units and university constituents to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of resources. This is an on-site position.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Support technology needs relating to smart classrooms including the maintenance and implementation of new initiatives. Assist in the installation and operation of classroom technology and audiovisual (AV) solutions for the University relating to smart classrooms, conference rooms, and other managed spaces.
· Assist in configuring and repairing the hardware, cameras, microphones, mixing boards, cables, and AV equipment associated with Digital Video Production classrooms, studios, YuJa, Livestream, and other distance learning applications/platforms and video conferencing equipment.
· Assist in maintaining classroom PCs, checkout laptops, laptop carts, and video conferencing equipment in accordance with current ITS standards. Support the servicing of classroom PCs, Macs, checkout laptops, AV equipment, and video conferencing equipment for instructional use.
· Provide training and support to faculty on the use of instructional technology equipment and set up or facilitate online audio and/or video conferencing for classroom instruction. Assists with and/or provides technical support workshops for ITS and end-users.
· Share, discuss, and collaborate regarding technology-related issues with ITS colleagues. Maintains and promotes information security best practices.
Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems is required. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology and one (1) year of experience providing classroom technology and training to end-users is preferred.

IT Services Specialist III (AM62/61122694/FTE-S00939P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05 . Salary range: $37,860.00 (minimum) – $53,957.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work hours may vary from week to week. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university and department. Flexible work hours are required to include early morning, night, and weekend hours. Some travel may be required. Information confidentiality is highly critical.
Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Technical knowledge and understanding of audio/video equipment and related software, telecommunications, MS Windows, MS Office, and the internet. Hardware/software troubleshooting, software installation, and customer technical training experience. The ability to work well in an academic environment. Have strong oral and written communication skills. Sound problem-solving skills are required. Demonstrated time management skills.

Flexible work hours are required to include routine night and weekend hours. Some local travel is required.
