Position Summary

We are accepting applications for this position from all students regardless of work study award.

Position Summary:

Work under the supervision of the classroom teacher at the UNM Children's Campus while performing various duties related to classroom instruction and supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Must help with all activities appropriate to the assigned classroom group

2. Must attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-service days.
3. Is expected to gather and share information about children with supervisors.

4. Help maintain an orderly and organized room during working hours.
5. May be temporarily or permanently reassigned to other work sites within the facility as needed.
6. Other job duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

1. Must be able to maintain a positive working relationship with other teachers.
2. Knowledge of and ability to implement program philosophy, policies and appropriate early childhood practices
3. Must be able to implement the use of basic first aid and other emergency measures.
4. Must be able to solve ongoing problems under close supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Previous experiences working with children in a group setting.
2. Coursework in early childhood education or related field.

3. Experience working in an Early Childhood Care setting.
4. CPR/First Aid Certification
5. Knowledge of the Pre-Kindergarten Initiative.
