Position Summary | William & Mary Libraries welcomes over 600,000 library users through our doors each year. We are hiring a Circulation Assistant to join our team. As a member of the Circulation team, this position staffs the circulation desk, ensuring that library users receive excellent overall service including access to collections and facilities while providing a welcoming and inclusive space to support teaching, learning, and research for the William & Mary community. This role participates in departmental decision-making and problem-solving. Excellent communication skills are essential. The schedule for this position requires some flexibility due to rotational scheduling. Shifts are typically Monday – Friday 7AM-3:30PM or 8:30AM-5PM with the exception of one evening shift being 12:30PM-9PM. Occasional weekends required. As a member of the circulation team, the Circulation Assistant will support the many facets of the department, including: After appropriate training, routinely serve as a rotating staff person in charge of the library with responsibility for the safety and security of persons and materials in the library.
Circulation Desk Customer Service
Maintain Bookstacks at Swem Library and Offsite Stacks
Coordinate Delivery of Library Materials to Partner Libraries
Assist with Student Supervision
Other Duties as Assigned

Advertised Pay Range | $41,000 - $45,000 |
