Position Overview
Teach a non-credit course in beginner Chinese to high school and university students enrolled in the STARTALK summer camp. Design the syllabus, maintain student records, work closely with the camp organizers regarding students’ progress in the courses. For STARTALK Programs, anyone receiving a salary from the grant must be a US Citizen or permanent resident admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Demonstrate enthusiasm, patience, and dedication to inspiring the participating students.
2. Ensure that students are engaged during the class.
3. Design the syllabus, maintain student records, work closely with the camp organizers regarding students’ progress in the course.
4. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Chinese and proven experience of teaching it in US educational serttings.
