The current full-time base salary range for this position is $68,115-$131,720
Off-scale' salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Lecturer position:

The current full-time salary range for this position is $66,259-$186,446. The rate will be dependent on the duration and appointment percentage of each role. Both appointments will not exceed a combined 100% time between roles.
Percent time: 50% up to 100%, with the possibility of a split between roles.
Anticipated start: Fall 2024.
Position duration: One-year with the possibility of reappointment.

Academic Coordinator II Position Description
The Haas School of Business is looking for a visionary and innovative sustainability leader to serve as our new Chief Sustainability Officer (Academic Coordinator II). Building on decades of initiative in sustainability and management education at Haas, the Chief Sustainability Officer will provide leadership across the school, university, wider higher education and business community, showcasing and collaborating with both internal and external partners.
Please note this appointment is for the academic year, also referred to as a nine-month appointment. The appointee serving during the academic year which begins from the start of the fall semester to the end of the spring semester. The annual salary for the Academic Coordinator II position pay is distributed in twelve equal installments throughout the calendar year.
The selected candidate must have a strong academic understanding and demonstrated professional expertise and experience in leading at least one or more key sustainability and/or climate change and business topics. The ideal candidate will be able to work, contribute and advise across a range of topic areas covered by business schools including energy transition and climate change, sustainable and impact finance, corporate sustainability reporting and disclosure, sustainable sourcing and supply chain management or sustainable food and regenerative agriculture.
The climate crisis requires a transformation of our economies and business practices, and business schools have a crucial responsibility to train future leaders who will forge these transitions. The Dean of Haas has highlighted sustainability as one of her top three strategic priorities. With that in mind, the CSO will partner with Haas faculty and leadership to create new innovative and scalable solutions to tackle climate change and sustainability challenges from a business and management education perspective. The CSO will envision and ensure that Haas is at the forefront of the sustainability economic transformation and will lead the strategic thinking needed to make Haas the go-to school for students, faculty, industry and policymakers passionate about tackling and addressing climate change. This includes everything from overseeing the implementation of key interdisciplinary degree and certificate programs, connecting academic research to industry and advocating to state and national policymakers on future green trends, to leading a delegation of business school leaders at national and international climate conferences and working with our renowned faculty, Centers and Institutes, and wider UC Berkeley campus partners to offer an outstanding student educational experience.
Together with Haas leadership and faculty the CSO will create the vision and strategy needed to transform business education in the face of the climate crisis. The candidate must be comfortable speaking to the media, building corporate partnerships and forging academic relationships. The CSO will have an established team supporting the work of the Office of Sustainability and Climate Change as well as wider institutional support.

The Academic Coordinator role is non-represented and is governed by the policies of the University of California Academic Personnel Manual (APM).
Lecturer Position Description
This position will have the opportunity to teach courses in the area of Sustainability during the summer, fall and/or spring semesters, should an opening arise, from one to three courses per year.
The Academic Coordinator position will be reduced to accommodate the lecturer position (performed in an academic year Lecturer title) when teaching. Both appointments combined cannot exceed 100% time.
