The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional Workforce Development Director to contribute to the diversity and excellence of our department and to assist the faculty and staff of our fast-paced research center. The CCTS supports campus research professionals, learners at all levels and staff to ensure they are able to meet their research goals and ultimately improve the health of our communities and populations. Since its inception in 2006, the CCTS has invested millions of dollars into research funding and trainee support at the University of Kentucky through its commitment to funding innovative, early stage translational research. The CCTS's vision is to catalyze clinical and translational discoveries through an integrated and transformative research environment targeting improved health, with emphasis on underrepresented populations in Kentucky. In support of that vision, the Workforce Development Director will advance clinical and translational science Workforce Development through the development, demonstration and dissemination education and training innovations that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CCTS Workforce Development's strategic aims. All educational initiatives within the CCTS will be led by, developed and approved by the Director of Workforce Development. They will collaborate with faculty, directors and project managers on translation and development of complex materials into synchronous, asynchronous and hybrid learning formats.
Responsibilities for this position include serving as initial point of contact for Core, College and Department leaders seeking services of the CCTS Workforce Development Core. Advise academic and professional development teams by assessing translational science education and curriculum research needs. Interact with accrediting entities and organizations to ensure that all course educational development utilizing CCTS resources meet the highest standard for quality of translational science, dissemination and implementation, tracking and evaluation, and continuous quality improvement for the Workforce Development core. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders for creation and dissemination of all educational materials. Disseminate just-in-time online training for both internal and external access. Implement the Translational Science Benefits Model (TSBM) to develop evaluation metrics to drive continuous quality improvement across all Workforce Development efforts, including needs assessments prior to the development of all educational and training materials.
Successful candidates will promote educational partnerships and training collaborations to facilitate and accelerate the translational science and translational research workforce locally, regionally and nationally. They will possess expertise in translation and development of complex materials into synchronous, asynchronous and hybrid learning formats.
