Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and many other activities.
Under the supervision of the Dean of Student Development, the full-time Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Project Coordinator will directly plan, implement, and evaluate the CCAMPIS grant program. The project coordinator is responsible for establishing the day-to-day operations and services of the CCAMPIS childcare tuition assistance program to ensure low-income student parents’ greater access to higher education success. The project coordinator will integrate all resources available to student-parents, including but not limited to College Attainment for Parenting Students (CAPS) Program, Germanna Moms (GEMS), Single Stop, SNAP 50/50, Bear Necessities (Food Pantries), Germanna Cares, and community resources. The project coordinator assesses student parent needs, integrates CCAMPIS program into the work of the Student Development program, selects and onboards student parents to the program and tracks student parent progress to graduation. Provides direct student support services, including academic and career coaching and advising and Single Stop recruitment, support, and outreach. Will need to coordinate, collaborate, and make referrals with other services internal and external. The project coordinator serves as the Chair of the CCAMPIS Steering Committee, including planning and facilitating meetings, documenting committee progress, and preparing all required grant reports adhering to federal reporting timelines and criteria. The project coordinator serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) on the CCAMPIS grant through the U.S. Department of Education. The project coordinator works collaboratively with a part-time Child Care Consultant, part-time CAPS Coach, and contracted Grant Evaluator to facilitate the CCAMPIS grant program and ensure its success.
This is a Restricted position continued employment is dependent on receipt of grant funding.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with state or federally funded educational opportunity programs, academic or student support programs, or similar programs for student parents, underrepresented, or first-generation college students
  • Experience managing grant projects with responsibilities including applying for grants, monitoring compliance, reporting activities, monitoring budgets per applicable fiscal restraints, and maintaining grant records

  • Experience advising and assisting CCAMPIS eligible students with the transfer, college admissions, and financial aid process
  • Ability to effectively maintain a caseload of participants and provide them with documented services and activities.
  • Knowledge of Virginia public assistance systems, including childcare subsidies, subsidized housing, early intervention, and public school special education services
  • Knowledge of barriers to postsecondary education faced by low-income, first-generation, and/or student parents
  • Professional or personal experiences in overcoming barriers like those confronting CCAMPIS eligible students
  • Experience motivating team members and leading teams
  • Experience implementing innovative, culturally responsive, and inclusive programs, services, and activities that foster increased academic and student services support for low-income, underrepresented students, and student parents
  • Formal training or experience in best practices and programming that improves the retention, persistence, academic standing, and graduation rates of student parents
  • Experience with on-site consulting in childcare settings
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools

Additional Considerations
  • Extensive knowledge of early childhood education and family and children services
  • Experience working with disadvantaged and at-risk families and students in college Management experiences and knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures
  • Fluent in a second or multiple languages (English/Spanish preferred)
