Come be part of our facilities maintenance team specializing in carpentry work! We do repair work, maintenance work, remodel and even some new construction work. We provide all the tools you need. Job Responsibilities: Provide carpentry services to assist in the on-going maintenance of campus/local agricultural buildings and for remodel and renovation projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Experience in a variety of carpenter specialties, including framing & sheetrock, flooring, trim, windows, doors, roofing (metal or shingles), custom building repairs, and renovations/remodel projects.
  • Safe working practices


Skill & Ability to:
  • Work with various types of power and hand tools
  • Read construction drawings and technical information.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate as a contributing member in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new things.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work from heights (ladders, scaffolding, lift equipment)
  • Work outside in extreme weather conditions

Required License: Valid driver’s license is required.
Comments: Position is classified as a Senior Building Maintenance Worker. South Dakota State University is a tobacco free environment.
