Responsibilities*

Lead Drafting initiatives in the preparation and/or maintenance of CAD files for Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical and other disciplines associated with Michigan Medicine. Update and maintain established drafting standards for use by department staff in the preparation of architectural, mechanical, electrical and other disciplines associated with Michigan Medicine. Prepare designs from general instruction and/or preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics. Will implement modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification.

Conduct field work on-site to verify existing conditions and translate those existing conditions into electronic documentation. This may include the use of equipment to reflect those conditions and then to translate those conditions into existing records maintained by Michigan Medicine. Process owner for leading Strategic Facilities efforts in Support of Michigan Medicine, including all supporting request/approval processes, standards, policies, systems integrations, annual audits, education, tracking, reporting, monitoring and PDCA.

Act as lead on Medium to Large sized Projects across the Quality, Space and Information team. Provide support to the BPC team (Leads, Seniors & Intermediates) with the facilitation of Lean Design workshops.


Leading (and Coaching Intermediate/Staff) with the Analysis and Measurement of the effectiveness of existing business processes/applications and oversee developing and implementing sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable process (applications) improvements.

Leading (and Coaching Intermediates/Staff) in the facilitation of Root Cause Analysis, After Action Reviews, SBARs, A3/PDCA and Workflow (Value Stream) Mapping in support of emerging Quality and High Reliability Issues.

Collecting and analyzing process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced Quality, Safety, Productivity, Reliability and Reduced Cost.

Facilities/Michigan Medicine Committee representation for department/team.
