Baylor College of Medicine has an opening for a full-time Pediatric Neurological Surgeon faculty position at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. Job Duties
  • Responsibilities are to admit, evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide non-operative and pre-, intra-, and post-operative care to the pediatric patient (neonate, children, and young adults) with injuries or disorders of the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous system including their supporting structures and vascular supply.
  • Will provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: MD/DO degree or equivalent. Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) residency in Neurological Surgery AND an Accreditation Council for Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowships (ACPNF) fellowship in Pediatric Neurological Surgery.

 

  • Minimum Certification/Licenses: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (or eligible for same);Current certification in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurosurgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery OR eligible for same.

 

  • Experience: Demonstrated current competence and evidence of at least fifty (50) pediatrics neurosurgical procedures, reflective of the scope of privileges requested, during the past 12 months or successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency or clinical fellowship within the past 12 months.
