The Colorado School of Public Health has an opening for a full-time University Staff (non-classified) Business Professional.

Job Summary:

Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families.  Functions include institutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review, strategic planning and broad unit business operations such as parking and transportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate and property management, retail services or job responsibilities that combine fiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.

 

Professionals at the entry level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

 

At the entry level, duties are limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals and are performed in a training and development capacity.

 

This position provides fiscal, human resources, communication, administrative and institutional research support crucial to the daily operation and management within the Department of Epidemiology and the Lifecourse Epidemiology of Adiposity and Diabetes (LEAD) Center. It is responsible for research support that includes coordinating study subject visits and transportation, managing the inventory and shipping of medications, generating lab and procedure letters and training others on these procedures, and processing payments to study subjects. It will maintain financial records and generate fiscal reports that will be used for budget planning/projection and decision making.  This position will also be responsible for procurement and Concur processing that includes the ordering of office and research supplies, and reconciling travel and coordinating of events. It will be responsible for analyzing and ensuring that financial transactions comply with federal, state, and university policies while also overseeing the process of hiring of student employees and assisting with employee onboarding.  The position will maintain websites, social media and acts as “the hub” through which communication is provided to department faculty, students, researchers and other institutional units

 

Salary and Benefits:

 

The salary range for this position has been established at $36,267 to $55,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, and communications, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.


Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Finance experience, including tracking and reconciling expenditures
  • Experience with Marketplace, Concur, and other University systems
  • Human subject’s research and HIPAA training
