Job Summary:

Join the Colorado School of Public Health as a Business Professional. This position is a key member of the school’s Department of Epidemiology and will assist in the day-to-day operations of the unit. This position is responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability, and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial, and student services functions.

 

The Business Professional will work with a diverse body of faculty, students, and staff and serve as the primary liaison between the department and various Colorado School of Public Health units.

  Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide operational and administrative support for department meetings, seminars, and events (e.g. scheduling, agendas/minutes, technical support, room reservations, Zoom setup, travel, marketing/communications, etc.).

·         Maintain department distribution lists, bulletin boards, and website; distribute announcements.

·         Maintain inventory of office supplies and place orders using appropriate purchasing procedures; reconcile charges monthly.

·         Support faculty recruitment and onboarding (e.g. coordinate visits and travel, schedule interviews, order keys and equipment for new hires).

·         Serve as primary communication liaison between the department and other ColoradoSPH departments, the Dean’s Office, Office of Student Affairs, Human Resources, Faculty Affairs, and other campus units.

·         Assist with admissions processes for Epidemiology student applicants (e.g. schedule interviews for PhD/DrPH programs, assign applications to reviewers for MPH programs, create reports on admissions data).

·         Assist with hiring and management of Epidemiology students, including Research and Teaching Assistants (payroll and funding allocation, tuition and scholarship payments, student tracking systems).

·         Assist course instructors with administrative tasks, such as organizing course content on Canvas, compiling student evaluations, scheduling courses, marketing programs, etc.

  This is a full-time position and reports to the Business Manager.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

·  A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

·  1 year of professional experience in an administrative or business services role.

  Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

  Preferred Qualifications:

·  2+ years of experience in an administrative role for a higher education institution.

· Experience working with purchasing, travel, human resources, and/or student information systems (e.g. Marketplace, Concur, Peoplesoft, HCM, and CU Data).

Anticipated Salary Range:

The starting target salary for this position has been established as $55,975 - $60,000.

 

The above salary represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
