Brief Summary of Work for this position:


The Business Operations & Staffing Specialist administers and coordinates business, human resources, and administrative functions for the Athletics Department. The position creates reports, processes and reconciles gifts and donations, deposits cash receipts, maintains department manuals, and creates external invoices for revenue generating departments including Marketing, Facilities, Team Guarantees, SHC & Tickets. This position monitors game officials, monthly tax reporting for the courtesy car program and completes journal entries and budget revisions as needed.
The specialist manages the processes and paperwork for performance evaluations, supplemental pay, position descriptions, recruiting, hiring, and other various HR functions as necessary that ensures compliance with university and NCAA policies. The position is the liaison between the Athletic Department and UNCW HR as needed. Other financial-related duties may be assigned as needed. This position serves as a backup for team and department support to complete travel and supply purchases.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience :

  • Two years administration or business management experience including experience with employment processes and policies
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and perform various duties with overlapping deadlines
