Job Summary:

Join CU Anschutz Central Human Resources as a Business Operations Specialist. As a member of the HR Operations team, you will be a main point of interaction for those seeking central HR services, guidance, and support. This role is ideal for individuals that enjoy a variety of interactions with others and tasks. This role has the opportunity to enjoy a hybrid schedule that includes three days a week in the office and two days working remotely. The individual in this role should be a self-starter that works well in a group setting as well as individually. We are seeking an individual who truly thrives in a team environment, has a willingness to learn, and prioritizes customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations functions for the HR Operations team.
  • Provide a high level of customer service by reviewing/analyzing requests received from visitors, email and by phone. Responds to the inquiry providing guidance or provides a warm handoff.
  • Work within the campus data, workflow and planning tool to create data tracking sheets, develop and maintain dashboards and organize incoming work for team members.  
  • Catalogue and retrieve campus-level personnel records in CU’s document management system. Serve as system administrator for HR instance.
  • Evaluate personnel records to prepare written and verbal employment verifications outside of third-party system when required.
  • Provide annual service recognition event coordination by managing reservations, finalizing invoices with vendors, sending invitations, tracking RSVPs, tracking expenses against overall budget, and assisting as an onsite coordinator.

Work Location:

Hybrid—This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule. At this time, hybrid is defined as working on campus three days a week and remotely two days a week.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Intermediate Level

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • One year of professional-level experience in business operations support, procurement, office management, and/or human resources. 

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications. 

  • Experience with purchasing, vendor relations, and procurement
  • Experience developing and pulling reports
  • Experience providing direct customer service
  • Experience with Smartsheet or Excel formulas and data analysis
  • Experience in an institution of higher education or a similar complex organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a level of ambiguity, review resources, and then determine the best way to move forward.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as:

Entry – $50,000

Intermediate - $54,383

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
