Job Summary
This position serves as the manager of the Business Services team in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, supports the Associate Dean in their responsibilities, focuses on daily oversight of the business office functions, human resources transactions and operations of the college collaboration and partnership with the Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs. Oversees all eforms and transactional submissions for accuracy and university procedures. Supervision of at least 5 staff in Business Operations. Provides guidance and daily oversight and tracking to all CONHI departmental administrative staff with HR responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
College of Nursing & Health Innovation, Business Services & Operations Office management, and oversight, including generalized finance and human resources operations.
  • Supervisor of 5 staff members training in the Finance Area and provide guidance for the human resources activity and administrative staff. 
  • Monitor work-flow, review and evaluate related standard operating procedures.

Business Operations: 
  • Partner, collaborate, and be a key resource fpr Administrative Managers/Officers in the three departments to ensure business operations and policies are followed and regular review of monthly account reconciliations, Procard approvals and reconciliations are completed in a timely fashion. Review CONHI expenditures, budget transfers, interdepartmental transfers, and accounting corrections. 
  • Design and manage an effective and efficient system of internal controls and procedures to produce reliable and accurate financial information which comply with university regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Manage and oversight of specialized nursing programs, including Nursing Shortage, Loan programs, and other specialized programs within the college, including applications, reports, and budgets.

Finance & Budgets:
  •  Help to collaborate and develop regular reports and provide recommendations to the director for management reporting. 
  • Develops Standard Operations Procedures for CONHI
  • In collaboration with the College Business Officer and Associate Dean, provides pertinent HR budget data with recommendations in preparation for annual CONHI budget implementation, monitoring, and analysis.
  • Approval Responsibility: On behalf of the Dean, and in partnership with the director, take responsibility of the approval process of all CONHI transactions submitted in UTShare as directed. 
  • Ensure that all UTA and CONHI accounting, budgeting and HR policies and procedures are adhered to when approving position transactions.

Human Resources: 
  • In partnership with the Associate Dean and the HR Coordinator, collaborate with the Department Managers in the three academic departments and other units in CONHI, regarding human resource needs, questions, and processing, including creating and tracking Accelerated Online adjunct appointments and ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Stay abreast of policy changes, proactive updating of CONHI standard operation procedures in collaboration with administrative support personnel in the Dean’s office. Professional Development. 
  • Special projects. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field with four (4) years of experience working with budgets and financial transactions, operations, human resources processes, or ten (10) years of equivalent work experience. 
  • Two (2) years supervision experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business, Finance or Related Field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Peoplesoft for a university or non-profit. Knowledge of UTA systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Solid leadership skills, management, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Solid organizational and communication skills. 
  • Skilled in the use of all components of Microsoft office and Peoplesoft. 
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work under stressful situations in order to meet deadlines.
