Job Summary:

The Business Operations Coordinator supports an assigned group of academic departments and has responsibility for coordinating various business operations functions, including processes for Budgeting, Human Resources, Payroll, Procurement and Travel.  The position coordinates daily operations to support administrative processing for departments.

 

The Business Operations Coordinator assigned to Biomedical Research (BMR) works closely with the Business Operations Lead to support financial processing, reconciliations and other responsibilities.  The position provides administrative support to the Chair, other leadership roles and faculty. 

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:

·         Responsible for ensuring processes for business operations are completed accurately and timely.

·         Responsible for following established guidelines, including university procedures and state law.

·         Provides administrative support as needed.

·         Assists in resolving processing issues with various university departments.

·         Coordinates and assists in prioritizing daily work and projects for other staff.

·         Assists in identifying process improvements and leading initiatives to establish improved business practices.

·         Collaborates with other administrative teams to identify opportunities and strengthen processes.

·         Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Required Education / Experience:

·         High school diploma.

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred.

·         Experience in various business operations processing related to budgeting, purchasing, human resources or payroll.

·         Five (5) years’ experience in business operations preferred.
