The center’s current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, community health systems development, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decision-makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. The center is at work locally, nationally, and internationally with public and private partners to improve health and well-being.

ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Business Manager I will work closely with the Assistant Director of Business Operations (ADBO) to provide support related to contracting, budgeting, invoicing, and other supporting financial documentation, as well as regulatory compliance with federal, state, and organizational funding requirements.   The positions will mainly provide financial and budgetary guidance to the Center’s Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement (ARCHI) team as well as the Center’s Health Policy and Financing team.
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
·        Maintains financial records including programmatic expenditures
·        Works with staff, Project Leads and managers to develop budgets
·        Provides analysis of financial spending to forecast program needs
·        Reviews vendor and contractor invoices for appropriate documentation
·        Processes vendor and contractor payments
·        Manages internal approval protocols for service provider agreements, sub-awards and initiates purchase orders upon completion/execution.
·        Monitors and reconciles purchasing card
·        Tracks and documents account expenditures
·        Provides monthly cumulative revenue and expense reports (drilldown reports)
·        Manage cost transfers and support award modifications (budget realignments)
·        Troubleshoots finance-related issues within sponsored awards.
·        Ensures all forms and other requirements are accurately completed for funder invoicing (programmatic and expenditure reporting)
·        Manages project closeout activities.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO MAKE YOU SHINE
·        Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·        Ability to manage, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks.
·        Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
·        Knowledge of pertinent software packages, OneUSG, Spectrum, and Panthermart
·        Knowledge of business and financial management practices
·        Knowledge of Sponsored Proposals and Awards administration
·        Effective time management and organizational skills
·        Computer proficiency, including the ability to use Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and two years of administrative experience; or a combination of education & experience. 

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Prior financial experience in an academic environment (research administration) setting is desirable.
