The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer provides technical expertise and development support for enterprise system level programs, applications, and interfaces with customers on requirements.  You will participate in all phases of the BI development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, ETL processes, and access mechanisms, following established processes and practices.  This position is responsible for production support and maintenance of the data warehouses, resolving programming or interface problems.  Responsible for working within the team on system performance optimization and interoperability.  Specifically, the position is responsible for code development, data extract and summarization routines, for preparation of all associated documentation, and for facilitating testing and validation events throughout the software development life cycle.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, engineering, or related discipline
  • Two (2) years of experience with software development / programming, data warehousing, or business intelligence 
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience


 

Skills Needed:

  • Experience with a variety of data sources (SAP, exposure to dashboards, OLAP and data mining tools, SQL, Oracle, Flat Files, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience in cross functional team environments
  • Knowledge of databases, data mining, and/or data warehousing systems
  • Knowledge of application functionality and foundational infrastructure
  • Problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of constituents (e.g., subject-matter experts, vendors, customers, etc.) on a wide variety of applications and infrastructure to identify and resolve issues 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, documentation, and collaboration with those supporting and using complex applications and systems

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in a variety of BI environments and experience with BI tools
  • Experience with structured design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures
