Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The Business Coordinator will be an integral member of the School of Music administrative team. Reporting to the Asst. Dean for Finance, responsibilities include travel processing, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable for the School of Music.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment, or high school diploma and 6 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business preferred. 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, USC policies and procedures, specifically as they pertain to accounting and purchasing.
Knowledge of office management policies and procedures and record keeping. Proficient in EXCEL, possessing the ability to understand, edit, and create complex spreadsheets. Good working knowledge of all MS Office and ADOBE products. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Job Duty
Process travel for approximately 50 School of Music faculty members, guest artists, and students as needed; complete transactions in accordance with BUSF 1.00 in the submission of required documentation. Work closely with the School of Music Asst. Dean of Finance to ensure funds are allocated and approved. Assist with payment requests, check requests and deposits.

Assist with School of Music financials, to include accounts payable, receivable, and purchasing. Prepare School of Music deposits to USC Bursar according to University procedures.
