The Texas A&M School of Nursing is looking for a Business Coordinator II to serve as a member of the Finance and Administration team. Job Description Summary: The Business Coordinator II in the School of Nursing Finance and Administration office is responsible for the providing support to the school through the coordination of a variety of business activities for the school requiring independent judgment, including reviewing business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and budget data.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience:
- Three years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations.
- Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor degree in business administration or a closely related field.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in managing business operations.
- Five years financial/accounting experience.
- Experience in processing travel vouchers and purchasing requisitions.
- Experience with purchasing and processing payments for sponsored research projects.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced financial knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Support
- Reviews, submits, and provides backup for signing vouchers and requisitions.
- Reviews and audits reconciliations of accounts.
- Develops, monitors, and reports budget activity.
- Prepares budgets for review by principal investigator(s). Develops complex financial and statistical analyses and summary reports.
- Prepares complex monthly and annual financial reports.
- Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors programs or services. Provides input and assists in developing policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Coordinates annual fiscal year closing activities and drafts new fiscal year plans with business staff in the college.
- Coordinates fiscal activities.
- Proposes solutions to complex financial problems.
- Communicates cash handling procedures, audits and approves cash handling activities, and coordinates unit purchasing activities.
- Coordinates inventory process and maintenance of business files.
- Serves as a records management coordinator.
Administrative Support
- May serve as a liaison with financial and/or travel resources within the University.
- Assists with the administration of grants, outreach programs, and research projects.
- Assists with monitoring, tracking and reporting of tuition and fee revenues for degree programs as needed. Assists with monitoring, tracking, and reporting of continuing education course financial activities. Composes routine correspondence.
- Recommends, implements and audits business procedures.
- Provides administrative support to the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration.
- Provides support for events, meetings or other special functions.
- Participates in the hiring and training of business staff and/or student workers and may provide supervision. Trains staff on new and existing business procedures and interprets policies and regulations for staff.
- Serves as the vehicle coordinator.
- Responsible for bringing company vehicles to service vendors for preventative maintenance, repairs and car washes.
Travel Support
- Coordinates travel activities for the school.
- Assists with conference registration, and airline, hotel and car rental reservations as needed.
- Reviews and edits travel requests for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepares travel vouchers for reimbursement and provides backup documentation.
- Ensures that travel arrangements and vouchers are in compliance with guidelines.
- Monitors travel card activity reports.
Other Duties
- Performs other duties as assigned.
