Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Analyst is responsible for a variety of tasks for the Student Financial Services & Cashiering (SFSC) senior management team including operational business process analysis, student account analysis and management, tuition and fee assessment, and data retrieval with appropriate analysis. Development and maintenance of business reports including the fulfillment of ad-hoc requests, and primary involvement in projects and documentation related to the University Workday solution implementations. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Financial Services & Cashiering and will play an integral role in planning and implementation of Workday Student.
The Analyst will ensure tuition and fees are accurately documented and reflected in the Course Charge Processor (CCP), as approved by the Finance Committee and Provost, and ensure the CCP output is accurately reflected once loaded to the Student Account Receivable (SAR) System. The Analyst will develop and maintain system and functional requirements, analysis, design, and programming requirements for the CCP in its current form and collaborate with the Division of IT (DivIT) on the translation of this program, when needed. Will provide subject matter expertise to the Student Financial Services & Cashiering senior management team and DivIT on the reengineering of the process in Workday Student System.
The Analyst will develop and maintain management reports and fulfill ad-hoc report requests that support the Associate Controller, Associate Director, and Assistant Directors of the Student Financial Services and Cashiering leadership team. Reports include SAR, KFS, Workday Student, and Workday Finance reports (in the future implementation replacements for SAR and KFS systems) that support reconciliation, track tuition differentials, and analyze the receivable. Develop databases to support customer service functions and provide staff training to utilize the database systems. Support system access and security, and regulatory reporting of SAR information.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information science or related field.

Experience:
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • A functional understanding of business process flows, Lucid charts or other equivalent charting tools, experience with materialized views (Oracle), complex queries (SQL), and data warehouse manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization packages.
  • Experience with MS Excel for data management and analysis.
  • Adept with technical analysis and solutions based problem-solving.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience analyzing business processes, documenting procedures, and developing reports.
Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Experience with large system implementations and/or projects.
  • Experience with Workday or ERP general cloud computing. Understanding of data tables and data warehouses for collecting and reviewing data fields.
  • Experience in process maps using flowcharts, diagrams, or other visual representations to depict the step-by-step workflow of the process.
  • Professional exposure in a Higher Education Setting.
