Business Analyst II, WaveWorks (Two Year Assignment)
Project Management and Strategic Consulting
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Business Analyst (BA) in Tulane’s Office of Project Management and Strategic Consulting (PMSC) plays a key role in the team supporting the change management and project management functions for the planning and implementation of the new, cloud-based Oracle platform that will replace Tulane’s legacy financial and human resources systems. This position is projected to last for two years.
The Business Analyst will support change management actions such as updating change management plans, scheduling and supporting training sessions, working with a change agent network across Tulane, and creating and updating project communications across multiple channels. Project management functions performed by the BA may include maintaining and updating project plans, working with leaders of various project workstreams to track progress, preparing project reports, identify potential challenges and solutions to address them, and escalate critical issues to senior members of the PMSC team. The BA will also assist in preparing presentations to key stakeholders such as Tulane executive leaders, arranging, scheduling, and supporting project related meetings and communications events. The Business Analyst operates with moderate supervision.

    Ability to quickly come up to speed on university systems and business processes, including an understanding of:
    • Day-to-day unit operations.
    • Financial and Human Resource business operations.
    • System design, functionality, and terminology.
    • Grants management.
    • Systems implementations.
    • Data and reporting needs.
  • Ability to deploy project and change management methodologies and approaches to ensure project objectives are achieved in a timely, accurate and reliable manner, and to communicate findings clearly and concisely to diverse business leaders, key contributors and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in working on, communicating with, and building relationships with diverse groups and teams; respects, values, and contributes to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Advanced ability to develop efficient and effective analytic methodologies and approaches to generate value, address a broad range of operational and performance issues, execute the analysis in a timely, accurate and reliable manner, and communicate findings clearly and concisely to diverse business leaders, key contributors, and stakeholders.

  • Required Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, IT or related field
    • 1-2 years experience in supporting of projects across organizations
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Project management certification or significant study of project management.
    • Change management certification or experience.
    • Experience with major system implementations (ideally ERP systems), including deliverables and related analysis, scope definition, requirements gathering, analysis, business process improvement, and benefits analysis.
    • Understanding of business processes, practices, vocabulary and reporting of Finance and Human Resources departments in large organizations.
    • Experience in complex analysis and tasks involving the development, implementation, and support of major project(s).
    Compensation Information
    This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 25PREM.
