Job Summary
Student Affairs at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Business and Administrative Services Coordinator to provide administrative support within the Melton Student Center department. This position is responsible for consolidating financial and business operations of the Melton Student Center as well as the auxiliary buildings and outdoor spaces.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as liaison for departmental administrative support personnel, advising on policies and procedures relevant to business operations, budgeting, and human resources issues.
  • Coordinates daily business operations, including reviewing departmental financial transactions, budget change orders, payroll and or travel vouchers, and other accounting and financial tasks. Advises the Director and others concerning Procurement and Business Services and Human Resources policies.
  • Advises student employees and faculty on policies and procedures concerning operational issues related to business and financial operations. Acts as a point of contact to other departments, students, faculty, customers, and outside agencies/vendors on behalf of the manager, director, or department head.
  • Assists in developing and balancing the administrative unit’s total budget based on financial information gathered from subordinate departments. Creates and monitors all the Student Center budgets. Complete monthly and yearly reports of all Student Center accounts.
  • Coordinates human resources processes to include recruitment of new employees and completing and reviewing personnel action forms.
  • Prepares or coordinates the preparation of business and financial reports.
  • Responsible for coordinating the purchase and/or maintenance of equipment and inventories.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Level I: High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience in administrative and financial support services
Level II: High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of experience in administrative and financial support services
Substitutions allowed for Experience: Degrees accepted in lieu of experience, at a rate of one year relevant education per year of required experience.
