The Building Operators Coordinator (Bldg Ops Coord.) at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station (UOBS) at Lake Texoma (120 miles from Norman, in Kingston/Madill area). The UOBS campus has ten buildings and several other structures, and accommodates approximately 175 students, researchers, and conference attendees. The Bldg Ops Coord. will maintain the facility for safety, protection of property, and service to students and other users of the station.
Responsibilities include:
- Clean, painting, repairs and improvements to housing rooms, cafeteria and kitchen, classrooms and research facilities,
- Mow and maintain the 20 acres of maintained lawn.
- Coordinates with vendors: professional plumbers, electricians, heat & air contractors, and other professionals.
- Monitors building and infrastructure including equipment.
- Serves as building safety coordinator and provides response to emergencies and equipment failures.
- Maintains physical and digital records for operations.
- Serves as maintenance expert on special projects related to any new construction, repairs or renovations.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor Degree, AND:
- 24 months of professional building management; facilities experience
Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
Skills:
- Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
- Strong ability to lead project teams
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong initiative to solve problems
- Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
- Basic knowledge and understanding of various HVAC systems and their components, as well as electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and painting
- Knowledge of building maintenance tools, equipment, supplies and materials and be able to use tools or equipment utilized I building maintenance with expertise
Certifications:
- Valid Drivers License
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Regular requirement for standing, walking, stooping, bending and climbing.
- Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to temperature changes, wet and or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals

- Experience with coordinating within Academic or Higher Education
