Department Summary
The HSC Operations Office creates solutions for a healthier community by fostering an environmentally friendly, well maintained, safe place to work and learn. Our departments include Institutional Real Property, Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Police, and Central Services.
Institutional Real Property is charged with overseeing the operation, maintenance, and maximum asset performance of HSC’s commercial leasing and investments, including on and off-campus properties.
Position Overview
This position will provide operation, repair, maintenance, and management of all building systems. Monitor all building systems for normal running conditions, regulate equipment operations and conditions, including preventative maintenance. Respond to system interruption, diagnose causes and recommend or take corrective action as needed.
Project management skills needed for this position include:
  • Understand basic concepts and principles of project management.
  • Understand how project management integrates into daily processes.
  • Ability to lead and direct teams on various projects simultaneously.
  • Be able to execute plans and then monitor and evaluate plans.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years of related experience in the maintenance field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to keep records and complete forms accurately.
  • Ability to direct and manage the work of others.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to complete tasks (i.e. measuring)
  • Physical ability to perform work involving standing, stooping, operating equipment, and lifting.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proper use of hand tools, measuring tools, power tools and heavy moving equipment. Experience with MS Outlook, Excel and Word

M-F 7AM -4 PM, occasional overtime or weekends as necessary
