Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and updating facilities drawings using CAD and other assigned software. Integrate CAD drawings with CAFM system and responsible for accuracy of facilities inventory. Review, analyze, and maintain facilities data in all systems referencing facilities inventory and submit facilities portion of integrated database to Florida Department of Education (FDOE). Performs related duties as assigned.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with coursework in AutoCAD required.  
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Six years of relevant experience in using AutoCAD in construction or facilities management field. Experience with CAFM system.

Minimum Certification/Licenses:

  • AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, or Revit Architecture certification or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily - 45%: Responsible for managing and maintaining CAD drawings for all District buildings, including subsequent improvements and additions.
  • Weekly - 5%: Reviews and updates facilities data across all systems including importing P-Lined drawings into Archibus.
  • Weekly - 5%: Assesses and produces drawings for use by outside contractors on BC projects.
  • Weekly - 5%: Develops construction drawings for minor maintenance and remodel projects as assigned.
  • Daily - 5%: Coordinates and implements the plotting of drawings for project administrators.
  • Daily - 5%: Assists in maintaining proper electronic media.
  • Weekly - 5%: Maintains an electronic database of all final production drawings for each building and location.
  • Weekly - 10%: Verifies existing building conditions in the field and record changes, as-built details and easements.
  • Annually - 5%: Maintains records for EFIS and the District’s facility management program (Archibus) including P-lining drawings for Archibus.
  • Weekly - 5%: Develops and maintains reports using CID information as requested in MS Office programs.
  • Other - 5%: Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with AutoDesk programs and the production of construction documents.
  • Ability to learn new technology as applicable to the job.
  • Ability to organize and maintain digital drawings. 
  • Ability to catalogue plans based on department standards for both naming conventions and file location.
  • Ability to integrate building design data into Archibus Facility Management software and Educational Facilities Information System (EFIS).
  • Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of all document reproduction equipment.
  • Knowledge of computers and the ability to maintain their operations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to interpret and transmit technical information to respond to requests for documents from Office of Educational Facilities, design professionals, contractors and District staff.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Tri-county area travel may be required
  • In-depth functional knowledge and expertise in area of specialization and general knowledge of related areas in the College
  • Ability to perform complex administrative analysis with only general supervision
