Research Technician to assist and communicate with Principal Investigator (PI) Katelyn Swindle-Reilly in management of the research lab and lab experiments. The laboratory works on innovative translational research using polymers for biomaterials and drug delivery applications. Assists with experiment set up and operation in a laboratory located in the Department of Biomedical Engineering; responsible for cell and tissue culture, polymer processing and/or synthesis, and drug release assays; assists in developing standard operating protocols, conducting research experiments, potentially working with in vivo models, and basic data analysis (analytical assays, histology, image analysis, gene expression assays, biochemical assays, etc.); assists in supporting other laboratory members and students; manages and maintains laboratory equipment, performs administrative tasks including coordinating lab safety inspections, maintains stock reagents and solutions; orders supplies and equipment; maintains laboratory website and manages laboratory communications on social media. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelors degree in (Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Physics or Equivalent) or Engineering (Biomedical, Chemical, Materials, or Equivalent) or an equivalent combination of education or experience required; 1 year previous experience with wet laboratory work; Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge to research required. Ability to work with other researchers and communicate clearly in a group setting.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $15.29 - $20.41 per hour paid biweekly. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
