Department Description

The Academic Units Shared Service Center (AUSS-C) provides transactional support to eight colleges, schools and units comprised of approximately 9,000 employees (academic, staff and students). This is one of two positions supporting clients/departments in the colleges, schools and units served by the AUSS-C.



Job Summary

Provide daily transactional support for AUSS-C clients for staff actions, such as Classification, Recruitment, Equity/Stipend and other actions associated with the position description. Work is primarily performed using PeopleAdmin, AggieService and TAM.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience:

·         Experience working in a fast paced, high volume transactional environment.

·         Experience maintaining a high degree of discretion, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.

·         Experience with web­-based integrated systems recruitment and personnel systems, spreadsheet, word processing, email, database, and presentation software applications.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

·         Demonstrated analytical skills to understand human resources activities and a variety of policies and contracts as well as apply them appropriately to meet the needs of the department and AUSS-C.

·         Interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with administration, staff, visitors, and volunteers, using tact, diplomacy, and good judgment during all interactions in the performance of a wide variety of programs and support functions.

·         Organizational skills to meet customer expectations with an emphasis on quality, quantity, and timeliness of work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education/Experience:  

·         Experience with general employment, classification, and compensation.

·         Experience reviewing, understanding, and applying policies, procedures, and collective bargaining contract agreements.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

·         Knowledge of University of California staff personnel policies/procedures and union contracts.
