Department Summary
The UCLA Center for LGBTQ+ Advocacy, Research, and Health (C-LARAH) is part of the Fielding School of Public Health, within the Department of Epidemiology. LARAH is derived from the Latin word "hilaris," meaning cheerful. The mission of C-LARAH is to maintain an interdisciplinary, research-driven, evidence-based platform used to carry out public policy initiatives that improve the health and social well-being of sexual and gender minorities. C-LARAH is directed by Dr. Matthew Mimiaga.
Position Summary

This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic research team dedicated to advancing LGBTQ+ health and well-being through rigorous scientific inquiry and advocacy. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biostatistics, excellent communication skills, and a passion for making a positive impact on public health outcomes within the LGBTQ+ community.


Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
  • 1-2 years Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (Preferred)
  • Experience in scientific approach and methodologies (Required)
  • Experience in applying a range of advanced statistical techniques in support of scientific research and or experiments (Required)
  • Experience in working with scientific investigators, interpreting research requirements, and determining statistical analysis strategies (Required)
  • Experience in planning, creating, programming and managing complex statistical computer databases. (Required)
  • Experience in analyzing, interpreting, and drawing conclusions from complex statistical information. (Required)
  • Experience in SAS programming and/or other statistical software. (Required)
  • Experience in scientific reporting and manuscript preparation requirements and standards. (Required)
  • Experience in providing technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise. (Required)
  • Experience with in-depth knowledge and understanding of probability and medical statistics theory. (Required)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (Required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Required)
  • Excellent strategic thinking capabilities and equally excellent tactical execution skills. (Required)
  • Ability to assess the amount of time required for a task and meet multiple deadlines. (Required)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of statistical research (Required)
  • Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports (Required)
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in advanced statistical analysis for scientific application. (Required)
  • Ability to work in a team environment to design, analyze, and report on research projects. (Required)
  • Knowledge of data management principles and regulatory requirements for clinical trials and medical research. (Required)
