What we want

The School of Dentistry is looking for an Administrative Associate III (biopsy service support) to serve in the department of Diagnostic Sciences and will be responsible for administrative support for the school’s biopsy service. Primary responsibilities will include handling all the biopsy kit requests, mailing out new kits, sanitization of biopsy bottles, and monitoring supply orders and inventory. Our ideal candidate is independently driven and will have a foundational commitment to the success of our School and students. What you need to know

Salary range:  $13.00 - $15.00 hourly (Based on selected hire's qualifications).

Position Details: This is an on-site, part-time position with an expected schedule of 20 work hours per week.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school graduation or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of experience in general office or clerical work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Axium and/or Ability program software.

  • Three years of experience in medical profession position.

  • Associate degree in related field.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

Office Management/Front Desk

  • Greetings of visitors, answers and screens calls, provides general information and referrals, and schedules appointments.

  • Receives, sorts, and routes mail and performs other mail services.

  • Monitoring and maintaining office supplies and equipment.

  • Photocopying

  • Applying, interpreting, and communicating policies and procedures and serves as a resource for answering questions regarding policies.

  • Processing and weighing outgoing mail with proper postage.

  • Maintaining records of receipt, mail out of biopsy kits, and other required information.

  • Monitoring and replenishing postage on the postage machine or online portal

Biopsy Kit Service

  • Enter information into the TAMU Diagnostic Oral Pathology Service records.

  • Performing data entry, retrieval, and assistance with maintaining data files.

  • Assembling biopsy kits

  • Helping with the processing and accessioning the incoming biopsy specimens

  • Responding to pathology report requests/slide request

  • Preparing slide trays and biopsy reports for resident daily review

  • Receiving and delivering of biopsy specimens and kits

  • Faxing and mailing out of pathology reports.
