Position Summary
Under general supervision, provide day-to-day financial business support for UNMC Pediatric Dental Clinic, Adult Dental Clinic, University Dental Associates located in the Omaha clinic locations, with respect to billing and collection management, third party contracts and submissions, patient financial planning (collectively identifies accounts receivable and accounts payable systems), office financial practices with respect to clinic and program operation and back-up support for other clerical support personnel.

Required and Preferred Qualifications


Required Education: Relevant coursework/specialized training or equivalent

One year post high school education in business or related field.

Experience related to medical/dental billing, coding and collections in a private, university, or hospital billing office.

Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral communication skills; business writing skills desirable.
- Computer experience ; knowledge of and experience with spreadsheets and word processing.
- Be a self-starter who can work independently but also closely with peers.
- Be able to multi-task multiple patient accounts at different locations.
Preferred Education: Relevant coursework/specialized training

Coursework in Coding, Billing or Healthcare Management normally acquired through enrollment in a secondary education institution or online classes
Preferred Experience:
Iowa and Nebraska Medicaid and demonstration of knowledge and practice in medical or dental terminology, third party payer appeals, denial trending and analysis

Preferred Computer Applications: SAP
Preferred Other Computer Applications: Dental Software comparable to Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, One chart or other dental billing software.

- Medical or dental insurance plans and types of benefit coverage preferred
- CPT/CDT coding preferred
- Electronic payment processing, credit card & health savings account transfers
- Federal, regional, and state regulations in the dental or medical field
