Job Description:

You'll be a part of our dedicated and friendly Human Resources team, where we are all driven to achieve our goals and are deeply committed to creating a fantastic workplace environment on campus.  The Human Resources team strives to find opportunities to invigorate our days with some fun by having a dip day, coffee break, or going out to lunch as a group.  

As a Benefits Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in managing our employee benefits programs, ensuring seamless administration and exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a thorough understanding of benefits regulations, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to enhancing the overall employee experience.

As part of benefits administration:

  • You will enter data into various HRIS to reappoint returning employees and administer all aspects of benefits throughout the employee's life cycle.
  • You will collaborate with the Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Coordinator to enhance the employee's benefits administration and provide backup support as well as oversee the annual reward and recognition program, fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • You will manage tuition benefits, supporting employees in their educational pursuits.

As part of leave management:

  • You will meet with employees to discuss leave options, including FMLA, Paid Family Leave, Paid Parental Leave, utilizing our generous leave accruals.
  • You will manage the Workers Compensation Program, overseeing claims through the State Insurance fund for employees with work-related injuries.
  • Address discrepancies or problems with leave accruals or hierarchy by working directly with employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews and offboarding meetings with departing employees, facilitating a smooth transition.

As part of Reporting and Compliance:

  • You will maintain records for various annual reporting requirements, such as the Occupational Injury/Illness Survey, the DOSH-400 report, the VETS-100 Report, and ensure accurate and timely submission.
  • You will manage drug testing for employees with CDL licenses, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience or Associate's degree in related field with 5 years of experience in Human Resources, or benefits administration related role.
  • Ability to complete detailed tasks with a focus on delivering a positive employee experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 5 years of experience in Benefits Administration or related role.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Strong understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Proven experience in benefits administration, with a strong understanding of health and welfare plans, retirement benefits, and related compliance requirements as well as proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software.
  • Cross-cultural competency, including a record of working successfully with diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated work experience within higher education.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated energy and self-motivation.


Additional Information:

The starting salary for this position is $58,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
