Benefits Administrator, Leaves

Job Summary

This position will serve as a subject matter expert within benefits for Absence Management software, state and local leaves, and will collaborate with other benefit subject matter experts as appropriate.  Responsible for process documentation, communications, and general functionality within the AbsenceSoft absence management tool.  Partner with others to create efficiencies and ensure FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, and other leave types are handled consistently.  Research and assist with complicated leave cases involving legal requirements from other states.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with the Leave Manager and outside vendor to assist in process design/documentation, and consistent use of the absence management software.  Build workflows within the system and communications to support.
  • Must keep up to date on leave laws, policies, procedures and processes.  Work with Leaves team to ensure processes support legal compliance, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Communicate effectively, both oral and written formats, develop and conduct presentations for supervisors and employees, and assist with development of customer service information (i.e. web resources, knowledge base, training materials) related to leaves.
  • Work with the HR business partner team, departmental business offices and supervisors to seek resolution on employee cases related to leaves and disabilities

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
  • Two or more years of HR experience
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of required education and related work experience
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret leave policies and identify solutions for a variety of leave-related issues
  • Learning orientation to changing technology impacting leave/absence management processes
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills along with effectiveness in presenting to small groups, large groups and one-on-one
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

What Is Helpful:
  • Experience in HR leaves, absence management or disability management
  • Experience with SAP or other HRIS system
