The incumbent is responsible for the management and implementation of all aspects of the Early Academic Outreach Program as related to special populations (groups who do not have matriculation rates to post-secondary institutions i.e. Native American, African American, Pacific Islander, and English Language Learners) throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Provides pre-college services to approximately 1000 students and their parents at high schools and community-based organizations. Conceptualizes, develops, and implements program services required by EAOP Systemwide and the UC Riverside campus. Provides advising and guidance to high school student participants which will prepare them for admission to a post-secondary institution. Serves as the primary contact for the Early Academic Outreach Program at identified high schools and community-based organizations throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Serves as the resource person for high school personnel on matters related to students' post-secondary preparation. Works collaboratively with other college readiness programs such as the Office of TRIO Programs; develops relationships with other campus offices such as Educational Talent Search, UCR Office of Admissions, Office of Financial Aid, Career Center, Learning Center, and others. Participates in the recruitment, selection, and training of the University Mentors. Responsible for the collection of information and tracking of program services provided to participants for the annual performance report. Assists the Director in making decisions regarding allocations of funds for implementation of program services to meet program objectives. In the absence of the Director, with consultation from the Executive Director, provides oversight of the operation of services as they pertain to special populations. This is a full-time career position.

The salary range for the Assistant Director - Special Populations and Community Based Organizations position is $54,200.00 - $63,950.00 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $63,950.00 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.
