Job Summary

Job Description
Leverage large amounts of complex, multi-source data to inform day-to-day management of the Louisiana Medicaid program.
Produce analytical reports on measures and metrics set by departmental priorities.
Extract and compile data from various sources (SQL server, Flat files or various files format received, etc).
Supports the production of mandatory State and Federal reporting, including but not limited to writing advance reports, designing dashboards, analytics, and validating data.   
Supports the development of process improvements (quality and efficiency) for the production of the mandatory State and Federal reporting
Translate complex quantitative and statistical analysis for non-technical staff members.
Maintains data dictionary by entering and revising definitions.
Maintain a working knowledge of statistical methods, relevant computer software, and other technologies requires to perform responsibilities.
Identify and correct systematic data errors (encounter, claims and provider registry data).
Perform other tasks as directed.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of professional experience in statistics, sampling or data analytics in lieu of degree.
Minimum one year of practical experience in data analytics/analysis.
Minimum one year of professional experience utilizing SQL or SAS.
Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Great attention to detail and follow up.

Desired Qualifications:


Advanced degree or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field which emphasized statistics, sampling or data analytics.
Minimum two years of professional experience in data analytics/analysis, statistics, or sampling.
Minimum two years of professional experience in reporting and statistical analysis.
Minimum two years of professional experience utilizing Tableau, R or Python.
Healthcare related experience, Medicaid program support, or experience working with insurance/Medicare.
