Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provides senior management support IN Ambulatory Services for the Chief Nursing Officer. Ensures implementation and evaluation of the strategic plan for nursing initiatives for UAB Medicine clinical facilities. Directs operations of service line clinic and associated clinic personnel. Selects, develops and counsels the service line staff consistent with human resource management practices and policies. Ensures continuing education for service line staff so proper credentials can be maintained. Accountable for uniform clinical pathways and standards of care policies and procedures. 2. Plans, designs, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates ambulatory service functions for UAB Medicine

3. Participates in the development of long-range planning and regulatory action within UAB Medicine and ambulatory services. Directs the formulation and implementation of policies and objectives in ambulatory services area.

4. Directs and develops the budget process and management for the ambulatory services business line. Reviews records and reports pertaining to departmental budget performance. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures that protect corporate assets and help achieve the operating and financial goals of the organization.

5. Collaborates with ambulatory leadership to ensure all individuals achieve a high level of patient satisfaction in all areas of the business. Proactively addresses any issues as they arise. Works collaboratively with the School of Medicine departments, division directors, Associate Chief of Staff, medical directors and faculty to build trust and ensure an integrated approach to delivery of services.. Ensures ambulatory service areas are in compliance with all regulations and accrediting bodies governing health care delivery. Proposes changes as needed.

6. Participates as a member of the leadership team on a variety of committees. Participates in the development of UAB Medicine goals, plans and policies. Assists in the continuous review of UAB Medicine's short and long-term goals.

7. Meets with members of the Hospital's various publics to achieve good public relations and effective working relationships for the organization. Attends meetings of professional civic and service organizations as a representative of the Hospital.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or a related field and eight (8) years of related

experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

Licensed RN in state of Alabama required.
