Job Summary: The Audio Visual Programmer I provides application and system administration to multiple systems that provide required services to Audio Visual Solutions (Jamf Admin and Jamf Server, Adobe Admin, Smart Deploy Server, Deep Freeze Server, PDQ, Hypervisor Server, etc.) under general supervision. Coordinates maintenance, operations, and upgrades of computers and other computing devices in AV-enabled spaces, digital signage, and emergency PA. Assists with day-to-day operations. May provide guidance and training to other audio visual staff.


Additional Department Summary: Implements standards for Crestron programming and Audio DSP configurations and create documentation. Assists with functional oversight for other staff. Designs and monitors installation of complex AV systems during peak times. Serves as a project manager during peak operations periods as needed. Works independently and accomplishes complex AV systems work in areas of AV installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting complex system issues, and complex level control systems programming within a classroom, conference room, or various AV space on fully built systems. Works with other programmers to define details of unique AV systems including audio/video controls, relays, lighting, and various sensors. Assists staff with field questions, clarifications, and issues as they arise. Trains AV systems to end users. Manages own time to perform within defined schedule. Interfaces with assigned project manager and client contacts. Interfaces with all other technical staff in the commissioning process. Assists with mark-ups of drawings for system layouts during peak times. Assists with audio system setup and gain structure, video system setup, final DSP or Crestron code, and troubleshooting related to the AV systems.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of audio visual or Crestron programming experience; OR master's degree and some audio visual or Crestron programming experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in Crestron and/or Extron installation, Audio DSP (BiAmp & QSC) Simpl, Toolbox, VT-Pro. Excellent communication skills. Thorough understanding of AV system Integration techniques. Knowledge of IP configuration of AV devices on various VLAN’s, filling out IP tables.


Preferred Qualifications: Core Courses in Crestron Programming, DM NVX, DM, QSC/BiAmp Configuration, Dante, and other industry standards (Shure, Extron, CTS).
