PURPOSE

  • Provides support to Men's Basketball student-athletes both academically and professionally. Tracks academic eligibility of Men's Basketball and works with compliance office and coaching staffs to determine eligibility. Develops a comprehensive life skills program for men's basketball.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise academic progress of men's basketball student-athletes. Provide academic advising and tutoring to men's basketball student athletes. Monitor NCAA eligibility requirements. Report and communicate student-athlete problems with men's basketball coaching staff. Work closely with at-risk men's basketball student-athletes and routinely monitor academic progress.
  • Assist with the review of prospective men's basketball student-athletes files and assist with admission process needs.
  • Develop and direct a robust outreach and community service program for men's basketball student-athletes to enhance their professional development.
  • Provide information for NCAA required reports. Maintain knowledge of the rules and regulations of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the Southland Conference and the NCAA.
  • Develop and manage life skills programming for men's basketball student-athletes to ensure their success both in and out of the classroom.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours and travel as needed.

WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE

  • Knowledge/experience in APR, graduation rates and NCAA academic eligibility requirements.
  • Experience with ACSA, Front Rush, Gradesfirst, NCAA compliance assistance and Banner.
  • Experience in college athletics at the NCAA DI level, working with MBB student athletes, and experience with life skills programming.

SALARY: $3,050.00 Monthly ($36,600.00 Annual)
