Job Summary
Implements program development, administration, communication, marketing, and strategic planning for programs offered by the Center for Public & Nonprofit Management. Develops proposals to secure grants and contracts for projects. Administers all program logistics and activities. Assists Center Director with leading and designing the state-wide Ohio Certified Public Manager® Program (CPM) professional development programming. Organizes community service activities within the Leadership Academy and other development programs. Manages event planning and execution for all programming within the Center. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in urban studies, public administration or related field.
  • Experience leading curriculum/instructional design, program assessment, or national accreditation/reaccreditation processes for public administration/professional development programs.
  • Experience in leadership roles i.e., coaching and mentoring clients, coworkers, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in proposal development and special event planning.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree, preferably in public administration with a focus in nonprofit management or related field.
  • Certified Public Manager® Credential.
  • Experience in social media management and graphic design.
  • Experience in student enrichment activities including internships and mentoring relationships.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations and public-sector agencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Working knowledge of higher education environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong public speaking skills. Ability to make effective presentations, develop and drive change, and effectively communicate change.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global perspective.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with a diverse constituency of clients from public and not-for-profit sectors.
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours and to travel locally and regionally.
  • Ability to carry and transport program materials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
