Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The Assistant Director and Business Manager for the Center for the Arts (CFA) at USC Beaufort serves under the leadership of the Director for the CFA. This position provides overall management of the daily operations of the CFA, serves as the Business Manager, handles procurement and accounts payable for the Center, and works with temporary employees to see that all HR paperwork is completed as needed. Responsible for the overall fiscal management of the Center, collection and receipting of funds, budget analysis, providing detailed financial reports on events, receiving and verifying invoices and processing payment requests and purchase orders, working with new vendors to establish in PeopleSoft system, tracking payments. Responsible for Marketing of events through promotions/publicity, programming, electronic and digital media. Assist the Director with the Development and solicitation of sponsors of the CFA.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree and 1 year related experience in business, public administration or administrative services, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience; or equivalency.
Must have experience in Marketing as well as financial management. Cash flow experience and experience with purchasing.
Preferred Qualifications
Marketing experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft for financial use and for procurement. Verbal and written communication skills are essential to the Marketing functions. Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills, articulate, punctual, reliable, maintain meticulous records, meet deadlines, manage all aspects of fiscal management, (cash, credit cards, etc.) Excellent technology skills.

As Business Manager for the Center For the Arts, will be responsible for all financial functions of this department. Responsible for setting budgets for events and monitoring expenditures and revenue for each, preparing financial reports at the end of each event. Responsible for daily cash collections and proper deposits. Handles all procurement activities, processes purchase orders and initiates payments. Responsible for food approvals, procuring caters as needed, set up for all performer’s hospitality, Movies, Met Opera nights, and most social/fundraising events. Process and submit all HR or purchasing paperwork for temps or contract employees.

Responsible for Marketing of Center For the Arts events. Works with vendors to produce print materials as well as social media, radio, and other forms of mass marketing. Design and execute print and promotional materials for publicity and writes press releases.
