Posting Summary
Provide counseling and sport psychology services to student-athletes in a collaborative effort to optimize the personal, social, emotional, academic, and athletic growth and performance within the University of Vermont Athletic Program. Works with UVM clinical staff, athletic medicine staff, & team physicians to maintain comprehensive continuity of care. Works collaboratively with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, and other athletic support staff to provide consultation and integrated service provision. Provide respectful and confidential health care counseling to all clients, valuing differences in race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, veteran status and disabilities. Demonstrate a commitment to issues of social justice and diversity. Supervised by Student Athlete & Staff Development Manager with clinical supervision from Sports Psychologist.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or equivalent. Licensed in Vermont as a Psychologist-Masters, Mental Health Counselor or Clinical Social Worker or ability to obtain within two years of employment. Experience working with the college athletic and/or elite athlete population. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
Desirable Qualifications
Clinical experience in a college counseling setting highly desirable. Advanced training in sport psychology, such as certification as a mental performance coach as outlined by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, or equivalent experience desirable. Knowledge and experience in providing mental health services to athletes, experience providing sport performance consultation to athletic teams, and experience providing consultation within a collegiate athletic department desirable

Payband Max (Represents full-time (12 months, 1.0 FTE) equivalent salary. Must be prorated for jobs less than 12 months or 1.0FTE (Salary/12 x # of months x FTE)) 86300.00
Payband Min (Represents full-time (12 months, 1.0 FTE) equivalent salary. Must be prorated for jobs less than 12 months or 1.0FTE (Salary/12 x # of months x FTE)) 45400.00
Staff Hiring Band Hiring salary budgeted at mid pay band
Union Position Yes, UVMSU ($20 minimum hourly rate)
