ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer's Drug Product Design group is seeking team members with a desire to bring new, cutting-edge medicines to patients around the world. Our team members use science and technology to design, characterize and develop drug product formulations from candidate selection to commercial launch.

You will leverage your existing scientific knowledge, as well as develop in new areas, to evaluate the chemical & physical stability, bio-performance and manufacturability of the drug product across a diverse range of therapeutic areas.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams during the formulation design, development, process scale up, and technology transfer of immediate release, and/or modified release, pediatric and other specialized technologies to our clinical and commercial manufacturing sites in the Pfizer Global Supply organization.

You will apply scientific and strategic leadership to the effort to develop and advance state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing platform technologies. In addition, you will partner with colleagues across Pharmaceutical Sciences-Small Molecules, as well as colleagues at key Pfizer Global Supply sites to develop and implement advanced sensing and advanced process control capabilities.

You will develop industry-leading regulatory strategies to support the global regulatory registration and approval of our New Chemical Entity (NCE) submissions.

You will be responsible for the continuous enhancement of technical skills, scientific knowledge, and personal growth of colleagues.

Finally, this position will challenge you to pursue scientific excellence and creativity, in collaboration with industry-leading experts across multiple scientific disciplines. QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD in Pharmaceutics, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline with 8-10 years relevant experience in small molecule drug product design, or BS/MS in Pharmaceutics, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 12-15 years relevant pharmaceutics industry experience in small molecule drug product design.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, foster scientific growth and oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and coaching other scientists.
  • Extensive practical experience leading department and cross-disciplinary project teams and achieving results in a matrix environment.
  • Experience as both a team leader and as an individual scientific contributor in actively developing and advancing scientific initiatives and external collaborations. Additionally, successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and/or external scientific presentations at industry conferences.
  • Excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively.
  • A strong interest and motivation to learn and implement new technologies and concepts.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $241,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
